A stock journal for Taiwan and US markets

Write down why
before you buy.

StockNote keeps your reason and your take-profit and stop-loss rules for every stock. When a closing price hits a rule line, or a review date comes up, it reminds you to ask: does my original reason still hold?

StockNote Today screen with a take-profit alert and 30-day reviews

WHY WRITE IT DOWN

“Write down why you bought,
so every exit has something to check against.”

With your notes and after-close reminders, StockNote asks you to revisit your original thinking when a price hits your take-profit or stop-loss, or when a review is due. It doesn’t give investment advice or predict prices. It simply helps you follow your own rules more consistently.

Three steps to stick to your rules

01 · RECORD

Write down why, the moment you buy

Enter a Taiwan stock code or name, or a US ticker, and the current price is filled in as your recorded price. Add your reason, pick take-profit and stop-loss levels such as +15% and −8%, and choose how often to review.

  • Your reason appears word for word in every reminder
  • Optionally log your actual buy price to see your real return

02 · GET REMINDED

Hit a rule line, get a check-in

After closing prices update each day, StockNote sends a push notification when a stock hits your take-profit or stop-loss, or a review is due, along with your original reason: does it still hold?

  • Closing prices only, so intraday swings don’t trigger alerts
  • Answer “still holds” or “changed”, and your answer is kept

03 · REVIEW

See whether you followed your rules

When you record an exit, note whether it followed your rules. The discipline score puts exits that followed your rules side by side with those that didn’t, and Reason Check lets you look back at whether each call held up.

FAQ

What is StockNote?

StockNote is an iPhone stock journal app made by Wo-He Digital Services Co., Ltd. in Taiwan. For each Taiwan or US stock, you record why you bought it and set take-profit and stop-loss levels. After the market closes, the app sends a push notification when a price hits a rule line or a review is due, so you can revisit your original thinking. A web version shares the same account.

How much does StockNote cost?

It is free to download. The free plan tracks up to 5 stocks at a time with every feature included. The StockNote annual subscription removes the limit; it is billed through the App Store in your local currency and renews automatically.

Which markets are supported, and where does the price data come from?

Taiwan listed (TWSE) and OTC (TPEx) stocks, plus US stocks. Taiwan prices come from TWSE and TPEx open data and US prices from Alpaca, all as daily closing prices.

Why closing prices only?

StockNote is a journal for reviewing decisions, not a trading screen. Checking rule lines against closing prices avoids intraday noise, and alerts won’t interrupt your workday.

Can I still use the web version?

Yes. The web and the app share one account and your entries stay in sync. Push alerts and subscriptions live in the iPhone app.

Does StockNote give investment advice?

No. Prices, indicators and alerts are calculated only from public data and the rules you set. Investment decisions are yours alone.
